Well, don’t we sometimes think that the communication skills we have are not enough? Thus, we always try to learn from everyone who we think has impressive communication skills in English.

YES, trust me it’s the best you can do BUT you really need to improve your confidence first.

I have been training people for decades in this matter and many have really come a long way. Now they see themselves as well spoken and confident beings. None of them were already good users of English.

BUT they all had one thing in common that, they wanted to Improve their communication skills come what may!

Certainly, if you want to become a proficient speaker then you must keep your ears and mind open. If you are not a good listener you can never be a good speaker.

As a trainer, I have always encouraged learners to Never Stop Learning, as it’s a life-long process.

Though there are many ways to improve communication skills yet one must follow a step by step procedure to make it ever lasting.

HELPFUL AND EASY STEPS TO IMPROVE YOUR SKILLS IN ENGLISH

FIND A PARTNER WHO COULD SPEAK ENGLISH WITH YOU: Yes!! When we try to speak up something we need someone to listen up too. All you have to do is to find a partner who could encourage, correct and listen to you.

BE A GOOD AND PATIENT LISTENER: This is one of the most useful tip as we can never speak up finely if we can’t listen up carefully. Observe and follow how people good at communicating use their skills be it vocabulary or pronunciation.

RECORD CONVERSATIONS: YES!! One must not only listen, rather you must record the conversation of the speaker as well if possible. Later, it should be heard to evaluate areas where you are making mistakes, hence, pronunciation and vocabulary can also be picked up.

BE WITH PEOPLE WHO ARE GOOD AT ENGLISH SPEAKING : If you are not creating an English speaking environment around you then how can you improve? Always be in the company of such people who are good at the usage of English. TRY to IMITATE their accent, use of tenses, words and body language.

READ and WATCH: This is imperative when it comes to learning. pick something up to read whether it’s a magazine, newspaper or e-book. Try to watch English movies and news as much as you can because it will help you to be in touch with English even when you are not learning.

TALK TO YOURSELF: Yes!! Don’t think about what others will say when you are talking to yourself. REMEMBER you are doing it to improve your communication skills. Just say out loud like “I am drinking tea right now” “What is my dog doing outside?” Let’s go to watch a movie tonight” etc. Such simple expressions will make a huge difference.

FIND READING and SPEAKING EXERCISES ONLINE: One of the best way to practice is to find the related material online which will really give you an exposure. Follow the rules and do these exercises dedicatedly. Check your mistakes and repeat the drills till you score well.
